The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia issued
Strong winds and reduced visibility in Hail
The center explained in its report that the Hail region is experiencing significant surface wind activity, with wind speeds reaching between 40 and 49 kilometers per hour. This condition affects open areas and highways, leading to dust storms and a significant decrease in horizontal visibility. The center urged highway users and those venturing into desert areas to exercise caution, noting that this weather pattern is expected to continue, God willing, until 10:00 PM this evening.
Snow scenes adorn the mountains of Hail
In an exceptional winter scene, scattered parts of the Hail region and the outskirts of the city witnessed snowfall yesterday evening, blanketing the ground in white. This was accompanied by light to moderate rainfall. The Hail region, with its geography encompassing renowned mountain ranges such as the Aja and Salma mountains, is prone to direct exposure to cold waves, making it susceptible to snowfall and frost during the peak of winter. This naturally attracts hikers and photographers eager to capture these breathtaking natural moments.
Rain of goodness covers Al-Kharj and Al-Dilam
On the other hand, in the Riyadh region, moderate to heavy rain fell today on the governorates of Al-Kharj and Al-Dilam, including their affiliated centers and villages. The heavy rainfall led to flash floods in several valleys and ravines, with varying amounts of water flowing. This rain is considered an important source of groundwater for the region, which is known for its intensive agricultural activity. Farmers rely on these rainy seasons to replenish water reserves and irrigate their crops.
The importance of adhering to safety instructions
Given these volatile conditions, relevant authorities, including the Civil Defense, emphasize the importance of staying away from floodplains and wadis, and not attempting to cross them while they are flowing, especially in the low-lying areas of Al-Kharj and Al-Dilam. Drivers in Hail are also advised to reduce their speed and maintain a safe distance between vehicles due to reduced visibility and the potential for slippery roads caused by rain and snow. May God make it a blessed and beneficial rain, and may its benefits extend throughout the land.
