The National Center for Meteorology issued its detailed daily report on weather conditions for this Friday, highlighting a number of weather phenomena that require attention, especially for drivers and highway users in the early morning hours.

Map of areas affected by fog

The center explained in its statement that the possibility of fog formation remains, which could lead to reduced horizontal visibility. This weather condition includes large parts of the following regions:

  • Tabuk region.
  • Al-Jawf region.
  • Northern Border Region.
  • Eastern Province.
  • Parts of the southwestern highlands of the Kingdom.

These regions usually experience significant weather fluctuations during this time of year, as fog formation is a frequent phenomenon in winter and seasonal transitions, due to high relative humidity and low minimum temperatures, which necessitates taking precautions while driving.

The importance of following weather forecasts

The National Center of Meteorology's reports are of paramount importance both locally and regionally, as relevant authorities such as Civil Defense and Highway Patrol rely on them to issue proactive warnings. Citizens and residents in the aforementioned areas, especially those traveling on roads connecting the northern and eastern regions, are advised to use fog lights, maintain a safe following distance, and avoid speeding to ensure their safety and the safety of others given the expected reduced visibility.
