Find out the details of the weather in Al Qurayyat tomorrow, Sunday, as the National Center for Meteorology warned of a severe cold wave and frost with temperatures dropping to 3 below zero in the morning hours.

The National Center for Meteorology issued an important and urgent alert to residents of Al-Qurayyat Governorate in the Al-Jawf region, warning of a severe cold wave that will affect the area starting tomorrow, Sunday. This warning comes as part of the ongoing monitoring of weather conditions and atmospheric fluctuations experienced in the northern regions of the Kingdom during this time of year.

Weather details in Al Qurayyat

The center explained in its detailed report that Al-Qurayyat Governorate will experience a significant and sharp drop in temperatures, with minimum temperatures expected to range between 0°C and -3°C. The report indicated that this cold wave will be accompanied by frost, necessitating caution.

The National Center for Meteorology specified the timing of this weather condition, indicating that it will begin - God willing - from 2:00 AM and continue until 8:00 AM on Sunday, which is the period when the cold reaches its peak and the chances of frost forming on surfaces and roads increase.

The climatic and geographical context of the villages

Al-Qurayyat Governorate holds special geographical and climatic significance, situated in the far north of Saudi Arabia near the Jordanian border, and historically known as the "Gateway to the North." Due to its geographical location and altitude, Al-Qurayyat is one of the coldest regions in the Kingdom during winter. The governorate frequently records sub-zero temperatures and has experienced snowfall and frost in previous years, impacting daily life and prompting its residents to constantly prepare for such polar weather.

Weather forecast across the Kingdom

The weather conditions are not limited to Al-Qurayyat alone. The National Center for Meteorology had previously announced details of the expected weather conditions for today, Saturday, across the Kingdom, warning of cold weather, frost, fog, and dust affecting large parts of 11 administrative regions. According to the meteorology statement, the Tabuk, Al-Jawf, and Northern Borders regions will experience a noticeable drop in temperatures, along with active surface winds and fog formation. Frost is also possible in parts of the Tabuk highlands.

Safety recommendations and general warnings

With temperatures dropping below freezing, experts and relevant authorities advise following public safety guidelines. This includes wearing warm winter clothing, especially for children and the elderly, and exercising caution when using various heating methods (coal, firewood, electric heaters) to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning or fires in enclosed spaces.

Drivers are also advised to exercise extreme caution while driving in the early morning hours, as frost may cause vehicles to skid, in addition to reduced horizontal visibility due to potential fog. On the agricultural front, farmers in the Al-Qurayyat region must take the necessary measures to protect their crops from damage that may be caused by the expected frost.
