Strait of Hormuz
On the other hand, Iran’s deputy foreign minister told AFP on Thursday that Iran is not planting mines in the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s strategic oil passage, following accusations made by Washington in this regard.
Majid Takht-Ravanchi, responding to a question about statements by President Donald Trump in which he spoke of strikes against Iranian ships planting mines, said, “This is not true, absolutely not.”.
The Iranian official explained that countries had requested permission for their ships to cross the strait and that they had “cooperated with them”.
