The US State Department announced Monday the suspension of consular services in southern Turkey and ordered non-essential diplomatic personnel to leave the region “due to security risks.” A statement released by the department said, “On March 9, 2026, the Department of State ordered non-essential US government employees and their family members to leave the Consulate General in Adana due to security risks… The Consulate has suspended all services.” Related News

A statement released by the ministry said that “on March 9, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ordered its employees US government Non-essential personnel and their family members have been asked to leave the Consulate General in Adana due to security risks (...) and the Consulate has suspended all its services.
