Press reports confirmed that all the rumors about an official offer from Al-Qadisiyah to sign the player are baseless, stressing that the club's management has not received any offers, whether from the Saudi club or through the player's agent, thus denying the rumors that have spread in recent days.
These developments come at a time when Ashour is going through a difficult period within the Red Castle, especially with the failure of negotiations to amend his contract, after he had previously received promises from the club's management to raise his annual salary in appreciation of his level.
The main point of contention is the player's demand to receive a salary equivalent to that of his teammate Ahmed Sayed Zizo, who joined Al-Ahly in a high-profile deal this season, which the administration rejects, adhering to the terms of the player's contract that extends until the summer of 2028.
Despite Al-Qadisiyah denying the existence of an official offer, Ashour’s name has recently been linked to the interest of a number of Saudi clubs, in addition to reports that spoke of monitoring by the French club Lens, in preparation for studying the possibility of including him in a new professional experience.
It is worth noting that Imam Ashour, 28, joined Al-Ahly in the summer of 2023 from Danish side Midtjylland, in a deal worth around $3 million, with a contract extending until 2028.
During the current season, the player participated in 13 matches in various competitions, during which he scored two goals and provided four assists, according to data from the Transfermarkt website, in numbers that reflect a relative decline compared to what he offered in previous periods.
