The Takaful Charitable Foundation has officially announced the opening of registration for its financial aid programs for male and female students for the upcoming academic year, starting today, Sunday, and continuing until the 24th of Sha'ban. This announcement is accompanied by important updates to the eligibility criteria, as the foundation revealed the exclusion of three specific categories from the support lists to ensure that resources are directed to those who truly deserve them.
Categories excluded from support and the nomination process
In its efforts to control spending efficiency and prevent duplication in the disbursement of aid, the institution identified the categories that will not be included in the support, which are: students who receive other rewards from the Ministry of Education, third-year high school students due to their expected graduation before the start of the academic year targeted by the support, in addition to students who do not hold valid official identification issued by official authorities.
The institution has put in place a precise technical mechanism based on direct text messages, whereby the parent is notified as soon as the school nominates the student, with a time limit of no more than five days to complete the data via the electronic form. In case of non-response, the school has the right to replace the student with another from the waiting lists.
The context of charitable work and the role of the Takaful Foundation
The Takaful Charitable Foundation is a cornerstone of the educational social support system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was established to bridge the financial gap that might hinder the continued education of needy students. The foundation works closely with the Ministry of Education to ensure an equitable learning environment. Its role extends beyond direct financial support to include school uniform and meal programs in certain regions, reflecting a comprehensive vision for student welfare.
Expected social and educational impact
This measure is of paramount importance in enhancing the psychological and social well-being of students from low-income families. By updating data and excluding ineligible categories or those receiving other support, the foundation ensures that the circle of beneficiaries is expanded to include the most vulnerable families. This support contributes to reducing school dropout rates resulting from economic circumstances and reinforces the principle of equal educational opportunities, which aligns with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to build a vibrant society and develop human capital.
Special priority for the children of fallen soldiers
In a patriotic and humanitarian gesture, the new directives emphasize giving the highest priority to the children of fallen soldiers in the registration process. The institution affirmed that including this cherished group is not subject to the usual selection criteria and does not affect the school's allocated quota, in recognition of their fathers' sacrifices in defending the homeland and in acknowledgment of their societal right to care and attention.
Smart systems and data updates
The foundation noted that the new electronic system boasts several smart features, including the automatic migration of previous beneficiary data without the need for re-entry, along with the ability to update or cancel data based on changes. The system also includes an alert feature to identify siblings of beneficiaries attending the same or different schools, helping school committees gain a comprehensive understanding of the family's economic situation and ensuring equitable distribution.
