The Takaful Charitable Foundation announced that it has begun receiving applications for support for needy students for the year 1448 AH, through an electronic system that ensures confidentiality and is linked to 3 government agencies to ensure accuracy.

The Takaful Charitable Foundation announced that it has begun accepting registration applications for needy male and female students for the upcoming academic year 1448 AH, starting today, Sunday. This step comes as part of the foundation's ongoing efforts to provide financial and moral support to students, enabling them to continue their education without financial obstacles. This year's registration process features an advanced mechanism that ensures complete confidentiality to preserve the dignity of beneficiaries, and relies on a rigorous electronic verification system to guarantee that support reaches those who truly deserve it.

Historical background and national vision

The Takaful Charitable Foundation was established in 1431 AH (2010 CE) by a generous initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God have mercy on him – with the aim of supporting needy male and female students in public schools across the Kingdom. Since its inception, the Foundation has worked to achieve its vision of ensuring that “every student in the Kingdom’s schools has the opportunity to succeed.” The Foundation’s objectives are directly aligned with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, particularly in the area of human capacity development and enhancing human capital, by guaranteeing equal educational opportunities for all and contributing to building an educated generation capable of driving development.

Accurate registration and verification mechanism

The registration period will run for three consecutive weeks, ending at the close of business on Thursday, February 12, 2026. The process of collecting and registering data for nominated students is carried out by specialized committees within the more than 16,000 schools across the Kingdom that are eligible for support. These committees adhere to strict procedures to protect student privacy, ensuring that all data is handled with the utmost confidentiality. To guarantee maximum accuracy and transparency, all applications undergo an automated review and verification process through an electronic verification portal that connects the organization to three key government entities: the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, and the Ministry of Interior. This intergovernmental integration ensures the accuracy of the submitted data and determines applicants' eligibility based on precise and standardized criteria.

Expected impact and importance of the initiative

The importance of the “Takaful” programs extends beyond simply providing financial support. At the local level, the foundation aims to bridge the economic gap between students, creating a more equitable and equal learning environment. This support directly contributes to raising the academic achievement of beneficiary students and reducing school dropout rates that can result from difficult economic circumstances. By providing in-kind, academic, and educational programs, the foundation works to build well-rounded students and boost their self-confidence. On a broader scale, this Saudi model of charitable educational support serves as a model that can be adopted regionally, highlighting the importance of partnership between the public and charitable sectors in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, foremost among them being the provision of quality education for all (UN Sustainable Development Goal 4).

The Secretary-General of the Foundation, Dr. Muhammad Al-Aqili, praised the generous and continuous support that the Foundation receives from the wise leadership and the follow-up of the Minister of Education, stressing that this care is the main driver for the success of the Foundation’s programs and its ability to build effective individuals who contribute to serving their religion and their country.
