In a strategic move aimed at fostering a culture of innovation, Taibah University in Madinah launched the “ Taibah Thon ” program, a comprehensive initiative designed to discover and nurture talented students in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship. The program targets male and female students from various universities in the Madinah region, through an effective strategic partnership with the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha’at).
Objectives and pathways of the Tayba Thun program
The program is designed to be a true incubator for promising ideas, primarily aiming to discover and categorize student talent according to rigorous scientific criteria. Its role extends beyond mere discovery, encompassing a comprehensive support system that includes intensive training courses and specialized workshops. These activities aim to refine participants' skills and equip them with the necessary tools to transform their initial innovative ideas into tangible, marketable entrepreneurial projects.
Date of the introductory meeting and participation mechanism
The program's first event is scheduled for next Tuesday with an introductory meeting to be held in the small conference hall at Taibah University. This meeting will cover all details regarding participation procedures, the program's timeline, and the training opportunities available to participants. The university has scheduled the meeting times for female participants from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and for male participants from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
The context of Vision 2030 and the knowledge economy
This initiative comes within a broader national context aligned with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 , which places great emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship as fundamental pillars for diversifying the national economy. Saudi universities play a pivotal role in this transformation by shifting from their traditional role in education to a leading role in knowledge creation and supporting an innovation-driven economy. The collaboration with Monshaat (the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises) exemplifies the integration between educational institutions and regulatory bodies in supporting the emerging business sector.
Expected impact on the Medina region
The Taibah Thon program is expected to contribute to the economic and social dynamism of the Madinah region by graduating a new generation of entrepreneurs capable of creating job opportunities and providing innovative solutions to local challenges. The program also enhances the university's position as a center of cultural and scientific influence that actively contributes to sustainable national development and supports the Kingdom's vision of building a vibrant society and a thriving economy.
