The center explained in its report that the governorates of Al-Qurayyat and Tabuk will experience a wave of fog leading to a significant decrease in horizontal visibility. According to official forecasts, the weather conditions will begin to have a noticeable impact from 1:00 AM until 9:00 AM on Sunday. Horizontal visibility is expected to range between 1 and 3 kilometers, and may reach near zero in some open areas and highways.

The Al-Jawf region, specifically the governorates of Al-Qurayyat and Tabarjal, experiences significant weather fluctuations during the transitional periods between seasons and during winter. The geographical nature of these areas, with its widespread farms and extensive green spaces in Tabarjal (considered the Kingdom's breadbasket), contributes to increased surface humidity, creating ideal conditions for the formation of dense fog during the late night and early morning hours.

The unstable weather conditions are not limited to the Al-Jawf region alone, but are an extension of a broader atmospheric instability that affected several regions in the Kingdom on Saturday. The National Center for Meteorology had previously warned of thunderstorms and strong surface winds stirring up dust and sand in parts of the Madinah, Tabuk, Northern Borders, Hail, and Qassim regions, extending to the northern parts of the Riyadh region.
