As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's rapid digital transformation, the Ministry of Interior, through its "Absher" platform, continues to expand its electronic services to streamline procedures for citizens, residents, and visitors. These services align with the goals of Vision 2030, which aims to automate government services and enhance performance efficiency, eliminating the need for beneficiaries to visit government offices and saving them time and effort.
Steps to issue a visitor report via Absher
The Absher platform has launched a unique service enabling citizens, residents, and visitors to obtain a "Visitor Report" containing essential data and print it electronically for use in official procedures. The platform explained the steps required to complete this service via its official account as follows:
- Log in to the beneficiary's account on the Absher platform.
- Go to the "My Services" tab.
- Select "Public Services".
- Click on the "Absher Reports" option.
- Choose "Visitor Report" or "Resident Length of Stay Report" as needed.
Types of reports available for printing
The reporting services are not limited to visitors; they include a comprehensive package of data that users need in their daily lives and legal transactions. The platform has identified seven types of reports that can be requested and printed instantly:
- My report: It includes the beneficiary's personal data.
- Family members data report: To document dependents' data.
- Vehicle report: Shows the condition and number of registered vehicles.
- Traffic violation report: A detailed record of violations.
- Traffic accident report: documents the history of recorded accidents.
- Travel log data report: Shows entry and exit movements.
- Domestic worker report: To state the status of the sponsored workers.
Requirements for renewing national identity and changing name
On another note, and within the civil status services available through the platform, the precise criteria for personal photos when renewing the national identity card were clarified to ensure the acceptance of the application, which include:
- The background should be white and clear.
- The photo must be recent (no more than 6 months old).
- The face should be free of exaggerated expressions or makeup that alters features.
- The absence of ink stains or holes, and avoidance of red eyes caused by light reflection.
The services also addressed the possibility of electronically changing the first name of a citizen or a family member (under 18 years old). This service is free and immediate if the new name is on the Civil Status list, while it takes 5 working days if the name is not on the list.
The system allows for the first name to be changed only twice, provided that the second time is to return to the previous name, taking into account the rules for registering names, and that the new name is not similar to the name of a first-degree family member, in addition to requiring parental consent for those under the age of majority.
