The General Assembly of the Shura Council, headed by Al-Sheikh, approves the referral of 21 topics to the agenda, including the report on Prince Mohammed bin Salman Park and tourism and economic agreements.

The General Assembly of the Shura Council held its tenth meeting as part of the second year of its ninth session, chaired by His Excellency the Speaker of the Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh, at the Council's headquarters in Riyadh. The meeting was attended by a number of the Council's leaders, including His Excellency the Deputy Speaker, Dr. Meshal bin Fahm Al-Sulami, Her Excellency the Assistant Speaker, Dr. Hanan bint Abdulrahim Al-Ahmadi, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Council, Mr. Mohammed bin Dakhel Al-Mutairi, and the heads of the Council's specialized committees.

During this important periodic meeting, the General Assembly reviewed a number of items on its agenda and decided to refer 21 diverse topics for inclusion in the agendas of the Council's plenary sessions in the coming period. This step comes within the framework of the organizational and legislative role undertaken by the Assembly to ensure the smooth functioning of parliamentary work and the accurate review of national issues.

Vital files and strategic reports

Among the most prominent topics discussed was the annual report of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Park Foundation. This report is of particular importance given its connection to the Kingdom's major quality of life projects and environmental and recreational initiatives, which aim to increase green spaces and enhance social well-being, in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to create a sustainable urban environment.

Strengthening international relations and economic partnerships

The meeting was not limited to domestic affairs; it also included referrals to a number of draft bilateral and international agreements and memoranda of understanding. These agreements cover several vital areas, including cooperation in the tourism sector, a cornerstone of economic diversification, as well as economic and legal fields, air transport services, and social services. These agreements reflect the Kingdom's keenness to expand its cooperation with sisterly and friendly nations and to strengthen its legal and economic standing on the international stage.

The role of the General Authority in the Shura system

It is worth noting that the General Assembly of the Shura Council plays a pivotal role in shaping the legislative landscape. It is responsible for developing the Council's general plans, scheduling topics, and adjudicating objections related to referring matters to committees. This meeting is part of a series of periodic meetings aimed at expediting decision-making and enacting regulations that serve the interests of the nation and its citizens. This underscores the Council's dynamic approach to keeping pace with the rapid developments taking place in the Kingdom across various sectors.
