The national under-20 women's team launched its training camp today in Taif, which is scheduled to continue until January 14th. This gathering is part of the pre-arranged technical program for the age-group national teams, a step aimed at enhancing the players' technical and physical readiness.
This training camp is part of the ambitious strategy adopted by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation to develop women's football, which has witnessed significant progress in recent years. Through these camps, the women's football administration aims to support the development of young national talents and provide a professional environment that contributes to honing their skills, thus ensuring a solid and sustainable foundation for the national teams at all levels, culminating in the senior national team.
The national team's coaching staff announced the call-up of a list of 26 players to join this camp. The list included the following names: Dima Sheikh, Sarah Nayef, Maryam Al-Tayyar, Lian Amir, Aseel Ahmed, Maha Al-Badrani, Madawi Al-Otaibi, Miral Daghistani, Salma Al-Zubaidi, Tulin Al-Ghamdi, Malika Al-Duais, Rimas Ahmed, Lulu Abdullah, Saba Al-Yahya, Lama Thamer, Hala Al-Shadoukhi, Maya Al-Zahrani, Diala Al-Sabban, Jana Salama, Lareen Basyouni, Dana Al-Dahyan, Yasmin Malibari, Sanaa Hawari, Lamar Wael, Malakout Al-Salem, and Heba Ohashi.
The training program at the Taif camp focuses on intensifying technical and tactical sessions, in addition to improving physical fitness levels, taking advantage of the favorable conditions and excellent sports facilities in Taif. The coaching staff also aims to enhance harmony and cohesion among the selected players, a crucial factor in developing the team's collective performance in preparation for upcoming regional and international competitions.
These preparations are of paramount importance given the growing interest in women's sports in Saudi Arabia, in line with the goals of Vision 2030, which places great emphasis on empowering women in the sports field.
