The seventy-seventh Saudi relief plane, operated by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, arrived today at Al-Arish International Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as part of the ongoing Saudi air bridge to aid the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The plane carried a massive shipment of diverse relief supplies, including complete food baskets and shelter kits for those affected, which will then be transported by truck into the Gaza Strip. This flight was conducted in direct and ongoing coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Defense and the Saudi Embassy in Cairo to ensure the aid reaches those in need as quickly as possible.
The Saudi air bridge: a lifeline for Gaza
This aid comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister, who ordered the launch of a public campaign through the "Sahem" platform to provide relief to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. This air bridge reflects the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to standing with its Palestinian brothers and sisters in various crises and hardships.
The historical and humanitarian role of the Kingdom
Saudi support is not limited to this flight alone, but rather represents an extension of a long history of political, humanitarian, and developmental support that the Kingdom provides to the Palestinian cause. Since the beginning of the current crisis, the Kingdom has been at the forefront of countries providing aid, whether through an air bridge that has exceeded 78 flights, or through a sea bridge, in addition to airdrops of specialized aid.
The importance of aid under the current circumstances
This aid is of paramount importance given the dire living conditions faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip. Food and shelter assistance helps alleviate the humanitarian crisis and provide essential needs for displaced and affected families. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, is coordinating with the Egyptian Red Crescent and international organizations to ensure the safe passage of this aid through the Rafah crossing and its equitable and effective distribution within the Gaza Strip.
