The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince sent cables of condolence to the Emir and Crown Prince of Kuwait on the death of Sheikh Salman Hamoud Al-Sabah, in a gesture that reflects the depth of the historical relations between the two countries.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister, sent cables of condolence to His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, on the death of Sheikh Salman Hamoud Al-Salman Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, may God have mercy on him. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also sent a similar cable of condolence to His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait.

This high-level diplomatic gesture reflects the depth of the historical and fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait, relations that extend beyond official and political ties to encompass deeply rooted family and popular bonds. These relations serve as a model of brotherhood and solidarity among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, with Riyadh and Kuwait standing shoulder to shoulder in confronting regional and international challenges.

A historical context of solidarity and brotherhood

Saudi-Kuwaiti relations are based on a long legacy of shared positions and mutual support. Perhaps the most prominent historical milestone that embodied this solidarity was the firm stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (may God have mercy on him), during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990. The Kingdom opened its lands to the Kuwaiti people and their leadership and spearheaded international efforts to liberate Kuwait, a stance that will remain etched in the memory of both countries as evidence of their shared destiny.

The importance of the event and its regional impact

The exchange of condolences between the leaderships of the two countries on such occasions transcends mere protocol; it represents a continuous affirmation of the enduring strength and resilience of this strategic relationship. In a region undergoing profound changes, these messages send a clear signal of Gulf unity and cohesion, and underscore that the personal ties between the ruling families of the Gulf serve as a safeguard for regional stability. This expression of sympathy also reaffirms that the security and stability of both countries are integral to the shared Gulf security framework.

In his telegram, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to His Highness the Emir of Kuwait and the family of the deceased, praying to God Almighty to grant him His abundant mercy and forgiveness and to admit him to Paradise. For his part, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in his telegrams, also expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy, asking God Almighty to grant the deceased mercy and forgiveness and to grant his family patience and solace. This reflects the sincere brotherly feelings that the leadership and people of the Kingdom hold for their brothers in the State of Kuwait.
