Saudi Arabia launched the “Coming for Umrah” campaign to raise awareness among pilgrims about services and guidance, as part of Vision 2030, with the aim of facilitating their spiritual journey and enriching their experience during the Ramadan season.

The Saudi Arabian Hajj and Umrah Authority has announced the launch of its new awareness campaign, “Coming for Umrah,” a strategic step aimed at enhancing preparedness and integrating services provided to millions of pilgrims arriving in the Holy Land. This campaign comes as part of intensive preparations for the peak season during the holy month of Ramadan and aims to raise awareness among pilgrims about guidelines, services, and best practices that will ensure they perform their rituals with ease and tranquility, enriching their overall spiritual experience.

The initiative's context is within the Kingdom's Vision 2030

The “Coming for Umrah” campaign falls within the ambitious goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, specifically the “Serving the Guests of God” program, which aims to bring about a qualitative leap in the Hajj and Umrah experience. Through these programs, the Kingdom seeks to facilitate the hosting of increasing numbers of Umrah pilgrims, ease their access to the Two Holy Mosques, and provide high-quality services that exceed their expectations. The campaign coincides with the arrival of more than 11.8 million Umrah pilgrims from outside the Kingdom since the beginning of the 1445 AH Umrah season, reflecting the scale of the responsibility and efforts exerted to ensure their comfort and safety.

Campaign objectives and integrated mechanisms

The campaign will continue until the end of Ramadan and focuses on achieving several key objectives, most notably increasing pilgrims' awareness of regulatory procedures, guiding them to utilize official channels for information, and encouraging positive behaviors that contribute to maintaining order within the Two Holy Mosques and their surrounding facilities. To achieve this, the campaign adopts a multi-channel communication approach that includes:

  • Spatial awareness: Awareness materials are distributed in more than 18 vital contact points, including airports, land and sea ports, public transport stations, the Two Holy Mosques area, as well as hotels, accommodation facilities, and historical and cultural sites visited by pilgrims.
  • Digital and media outreach: Awareness content is disseminated across multiple digital platforms, via SMS, and using interactive screens and road signs. To ensure the widest possible reach, the content is presented in more than six international languages.

The importance of the campaign and its expected impact

The importance of the “Jai for Umrah” campaign extends beyond mere organization, encompassing deeper dimensions. Locally, the campaign enhances the efficiency of the service system and supports economic sectors linked to Umrah, such as transportation and hospitality. Internationally, these initiatives solidify the Kingdom’s position as a leader of the Islamic world and custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, reflecting its historical commitment to serving their pilgrims. Providing a seamless and exceptional Umrah experience leaves a lasting positive impact on millions of Muslims worldwide and strengthens religious and cultural ties.

Strategic partnership to serve the guests of God

The success of this campaign is highlighted by the close collaboration between more than 24 governmental, private, and non-profit entities. This integration ensures the unification of awareness messages and their effective delivery to all beneficiaries, reflecting a comprehensive approach to managing the Hajj and Umrah system. Through the combined efforts of all partners, the Kingdom seeks to transform the pilgrim's journey from a mere idea into a lasting spiritual experience filled with tranquility and contentment.
