The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister – may God protect them – have issued directives to intensify relief operations via air, sea, and land bridges, in immediate response to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. This urgent action, undertaken through the "Saudi Popular Campaign for the Relief of the Palestinian People," reflects the wise leadership's commitment to providing all forms of support to our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
In this context, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, affirmed that this generous directive is a natural extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in humanitarian work and embodies the deep fraternal ties that bind the Saudi and Palestinian peoples. He noted that this humanitarian gesture underscores that Palestine and its just cause will remain firmly rooted in the conscience of the Kingdom, both its leadership and its people, and that Saudi generosity is a deeply ingrained principle and an inherent value that remains unaffected by circumstances.
The amount of Saudi aid provided to Gaza
In implementing these directives, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its tireless efforts, with recent statistics reflecting the significant scale of support provided. The Kingdom has established comprehensive relief efforts that have thus far included:
- 77 relief planes were dispatched .
- Sending 8 giant ships via the sea bridge.
- More than 7,699 tons of food, medical and shelter supplies were transported.
- 912 relief trucks entered Strip.
- 20 fully equipped ambulances delivered to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
International partnerships and quality operations
Saudi Arabia's efforts were not limited to the direct delivery of aid, but also included signing strategic agreements with international and UN organizations to implement relief projects within Gaza worth over $90.35 million . To ensure aid reached besieged areas and overcome the obstacles of border closures, the Kingdom conducted specialized airdrops of food aid in partnership with the Jordanian Armed Forces, reflecting joint Arab coordination in addressing the crisis.
The historical and political dimension of Saudi support
These directives are of paramount importance in the current circumstances, as they reaffirm Saudi Arabia's unwavering stance on the Palestinian cause. From the era of its founder, King Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on him – to the present reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has never hesitated to provide political, material, and humanitarian support to the Palestinian people. This intensified effort is seen as a powerful message of solidarity aimed at bolstering the resilience of the Palestinian people and alleviating the severity of the humanitarian catastrophe that has crippled the health, food, and service sectors in Gaza, thus placing the Kingdom at the forefront of nations supporting Palestinian rights and international humanitarian action.
