Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Majid Al-Hogail announced that the Jood Housing platform has succeeded in protecting 200,000 cases from losing their homes, as part of the Vision 2030 efforts to enhance family stability.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, announced a major achievement in the developmental housing sector, stressing that national initiatives have succeeded in protecting more than 200,000 cases from the risk of losing their homes, thanks to the combined efforts between the governmental, non-profit and community sectors.

This statement was made during a government press conference, where Al-Haqil highlighted the pivotal role of the national charitable housing platform, "Jood Housing." He explained that this platform, one of the most prominent initiatives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, has brought about a qualitative shift in charitable housing work, attracting donations from more than 4.5 million donors to date.

General context: “Jood Housing” as a tool to achieve Vision 2030

The “Jood Housing” platform was launched to provide sustainable housing solutions for the most vulnerable families in the Kingdom, as part of the “Housing Program,” one of the Vision 2030 initiatives. The platform serves as a transparent and reliable electronic link, connecting individual and institutional donors with families eligible for housing support. The Minister noted the initiative’s remarkable growth, which began by serving only 100 families and has since expanded to support more than 50,000 families, reflecting the level of public trust and the success it has achieved.

These efforts are part of a broader framework to empower the non-profit sector, which the minister confirmed now includes more than 300 active organizations. The sector has also seen the registration of 1.4 million volunteers over the past five years, demonstrating the growing culture of giving and social solidarity in the Kingdom.

Importance and societal and economic impact

The impact of this achievement extends beyond simply providing safe housing for citizens; it encompasses deeper social and economic dimensions. By securing housing, the Ministry contributes to strengthening family stability and social cohesion, and alleviates the financial burdens on struggling families, enabling them to focus on improving their quality of life in other areas such as education and health. This objective is a cornerstone of the Quality of Life Program, which aims to enhance the lives of citizens and residents.

At the national level, this success represents an important step towards achieving the goals of Vision 2030. It also strengthens the innovative partnership model between different sectors and provides a model to be followed in the region on how to employ technology and digital platforms to serve humanitarian causes efficiently and transparently, thus consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a leading country in the field of charitable and sustainable development work.
