With the gracious approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, the sixth edition of the National Campaign for Charitable Work, organized by the National Platform for Charitable Work “Ihsan,” was launched on Friday evening. This launch comes as an extension of the generous support and continuous care that the wise leadership gives to the charitable work sector in the Kingdom, with the aim of maximizing its positive impact and expanding its reach, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan, in which good deeds are multiplied and the values of solidarity and giving are manifested.
Ihsan Platform: A national vision for digitizing charitable work
The “Ihsan” platform, established by royal decree and overseen by the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), is a pioneering model in non-profit sector governance. Since its inception, the platform has leveraged cutting-edge digital technologies and artificial intelligence to create an integrated system that facilitates easy and reliable access for donors to those in need across various charitable and developmental fields. The platform aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in donation management, ensuring that donations reach those most in need as quickly as possible, which aligns directly with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to empower the non-profit sector and increase its contribution to national development.
The importance of the campaign and its societal impact
The National Campaign for Charitable Work holds strategic importance at both the local and national levels. Locally, the campaign contributes to strengthening the values of social solidarity among community members and opens safe and reliable channels for participating in charitable and benevolent activities. It also directly supports thousands of deserving cases in vital areas such as healthcare, education, housing, relief from hardship, and debt repayment. Nationally, these initiatives reflect the Kingdom's bright image as a leading nation in humanitarian and charitable work, and provide a model to be emulated in utilizing technology to serve humanitarian causes, thus enhancing its regional and international standing.
Continuous leadership support and high governance
In this context, the CEO of the “Ihsan” platform, Engineer Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Husseini, expressed his appreciation for the unlimited support the platform receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect them both. Al-Husseini explained that this support is the cornerstone of the platform’s success in fulfilling its charitable role. He added, “The national campaign operates according to advanced digital governance that enables the community to donate through official and secure channels, including the platform’s application and website, in addition to providing opportunities to donate to the Ihsan Endowment Fund, which aims to achieve financial sustainability for the charitable sector by investing donations and distributing the returns to various charitable causes.”.
It is worth mentioning that the campaign is accepting donations throughout the holy month of Ramadan through the “Ihsan” platform application and website, the unified number 8001247000, and the designated bank accounts, to continue its journey of giving and community development.
