The Saudi Ministry of Education announced the successful completion of a massive logistical operation to deliver textbooks to students across the Kingdom's various regions and governorates. This initiative is part of the Ministry's extensive preparations to ensure a strong and stable start to the new academic year. The distribution included delivering textbooks directly to schools and to the homes of specific student groups, all within a comprehensive system designed to support the educational process and remove any obstacles facing students and teachers.
Record numbers reflect the scale of the work
In its announcement, the Ministry explained that the total number of textbooks printed and distributed has exceeded 68 million, a substantial quantity covering the needs of over 6.4 million students across all levels of general education. This effort aims to ensure the timely delivery of course materials, reflecting the Ministry's commitment to providing the necessary educational tools from the first day of school, a cornerstone of academic stability.
A precise and comprehensive distribution mechanism
The ministry clarified that the distribution process was not random, but rather followed meticulous plans that included delivering books to more than 37,000 schools spread across the Kingdom's vast geographical area. Furthermore, in an initiative reflecting the ministry's commitment to meeting the needs of students in all circumstances, textbooks were delivered directly to the homes of more than 30,000 students, underscoring the comprehensiveness of educational services and their accessibility to beneficiaries wherever they may be.
Digital transformation and the “My Books” platform
In line with the Kingdom's digital transformation under Vision 2030, the Ministry highlighted the launch of the "My Books" platform, a strategic step aimed at streamlining textbook management and improving distribution and monitoring efficiency. This platform provides accurate data on inventory and demand, supporting students and teachers and enhancing the quality of education by leveraging technology in administrative and logistical processes.
The importance and impact of early preparation
This achievement is particularly significant given the Kingdom's geographical and demographic challenges, as distributing millions of books to thousands of schools in record time requires a high level of coordination across various sectors. This early preparation contributes to enhancing school discipline and minimizing wasted instructional time, which positively impacts final educational outcomes. The Ministry of Education affirmed its commitment to continuously developing the educational services system and leveraging all available technological and logistical solutions to ensure students' access to educational content, supporting their academic journey and achieving the Kingdom's educational development goals.
