The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is participating with a high-level delegation in the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, which commenced today in Davos, Switzerland. This distinguished presence, under the theme “Dialogue Values,” brings together a wide range of world leaders, heads of government, senior business executives, and representatives from civil society and academia to discuss the most pressing challenges facing the global economy.
Context of participation and its strategic importance
The Kingdom's participation in the Davos Forum is gaining increasing importance year after year, particularly in light of the major economic transformations the country is undergoing as part of Vision 2030. This global platform represents a strategic opportunity for the Kingdom to showcase its developmental achievements and its pivotal role in stabilizing global energy markets, as well as its efforts to diversify its sources of income and enhance sustainability. This participation is an extension of the Kingdom's active presence in international forums, as a member of the G20 and an emerging investment power seeking to build bridges of cooperation between East and West.
The “Saudi House” Pavilion Initiative: A Platform for Global Dialogue
As part of its efforts to enhance Saudi Arabia's presence, the forum will see the return of the "Saudi House" pavilion, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Planning. The pavilion serves as a vital platform for fostering collaboration and effective dialogue, bringing together leading thinkers, decision-makers, and international officials. It is scheduled to host more than 20 panel discussions, including over 10 officially endorsed sessions by the World Economic Forum.
These sessions address six main themes reflecting the priorities of the Kingdom and the world: “An Ambitious Vision”, “Data for Impact”, “Human and Human Capacity Development”, “Quality of Life”, “Investment and Cooperation”, and the “Welcome to the World” theme, which highlights the Kingdom’s tourism and cultural openness.
Global challenges on the table for discussion
The forum, which will be held from January 19 to 23, 2026, will discuss five key global challenges requiring an urgent international response. These challenges include: building trust and strengthening cooperation amidst geopolitical tensions; finding new drivers of sustainable economic growth; and focusing on skills development and investing in human capital to keep pace with changes in the labor market.
The forum also pays special attention to ensuring the responsible use of technology and innovation, integrating environmental sustainability into economic growth models, in addition to examining issues of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cybersecurity and their profound impacts on industries and societies.
Expected impact of Saudi participation
Through this intensive participation, the Saudi delegation aims to foster effective dialogue and joint cooperation with government and private sector leaders, striving to solidify the foundations of international stability and prosperity. These meetings are expected to attract further foreign direct investment to the Kingdom and strengthen economic partnerships that support innovation and technology, thereby enhancing Saudi Arabia's position as a global logistics and trade hub connecting three continents.
