The National Center for Meteorology issued its daily report on weather conditions in Saudi Arabia for this Sunday, revealing weather fluctuations including scattered rainfall, fog formation, in addition to surface wind activity that stirs up dust and sand in large areas of the Kingdom.
Weather details and affected areas
According to the meteorological statement, weather maps indicate the continued impact of active winds that reduce horizontal visibility due to dust and sandstorms. This impact is particularly concentrated on the eastern parts of the highlands in the western and southwestern regions. This condition also extends to parts of the Madinah, Hail, Qassim, and Riyadh , reaching as far as the northern parts of the Eastern Province .
Regarding the chances of rainfall, the center explained that scattered showers, possibly accompanied by fog, are possible, necessitating caution while driving. These forecasts include parts of the aforementioned regions, as well as parts of the Al-Jawf and Northern Borders .
Climate context and the importance of warnings
These weather fluctuations come within the context of the transitional period currently being experienced in Saudi Arabia, a period typically characterized by atmospheric instability and rapid changes in weather patterns. These reports are of paramount importance to citizens and residents, especially those traveling on highways connecting the provinces, given the potential for reduced horizontal visibility due to dust or fog.
In such circumstances, the relevant authorities always call for following up on current weather forecasts and staying away from flood channels and valleys in areas experiencing rainfall, to ensure public safety.
