The General Supervisor of the King Salman Relief Center met with the Saudi Ambassador to Ethiopia, where they discussed relief affairs and the Ambassador praised the Kingdom’s leading humanitarian role globally.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, met today at the Center's headquarters in Riyadh with His Excellency Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Zahrani, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. During the meeting, they discussed several topics of mutual interest and ways to enhance cooperation in relief and humanitarian fields, in order to better serve those in need and ensure that aid reaches those who deserve it.

Praise for Saudi Arabia's global role

In a statement following the meeting, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Zahrani praised the pivotal and unwavering role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, in providing humanitarian assistance to victims of disasters and crises worldwide. Al-Zahrani emphasized that these efforts reflect the Kingdom's firm commitment to the principles of humanitarian solidarity, noting that the wise leadership – may God support them – has placed humanitarian work at the forefront of its priorities, making the Kingdom a beacon of goodness and generosity that does not discriminate in its aid based on race or religion.

King Salman Center: Saudi Arabia's arm of benevolence

This meeting comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center since its establishment in 2015 under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Center has successfully implemented thousands of relief projects in dozens of countries around the world, covering vital sectors including food security, health, shelter, and education. Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa are among the regions of particular interest to Saudi relief organizations due to the climatic and humanitarian challenges they face, making diplomatic coordination crucial to ensuring the delivery of aid.

The importance of diplomatic and relief coordination

Coordination between Saudi diplomatic missions and relief organizations is of paramount strategic importance, as ambassadors contribute to overcoming obstacles and facilitating logistical procedures to ensure aid reaches affected areas quickly and efficiently. This integration of diplomatic and humanitarian efforts reflects the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which strengthens Saudi Arabia's active presence on the international stage as a force for stability and development, and a supporter of people in times of hardship, thus solidifying its position as one of the world's largest donors of humanitarian and development aid.
