In a remarkable achievement reflecting the rapid development of the aviation sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Airlines second place globally in on-time flight arrivals for 2025. This prestigious ranking came according to the report issued by the global website "Cirium", which specializes in monitoring and analyzing aviation data. The national carrier maintained this position for the second time in a row, thus consolidating its status as one of the most reliable airlines in the world.
Record numbers and operational efficiency
The report showed that Saudi Arabian Airlines achieved an on-time performance rate of 86.53% , out of a total of 202,800 flights . This extensive network covers more than one hundred destinations across four continents, making maintaining this level of punctuality a significant operational challenge that the national workforce successfully overcame.
In this context, the CEO of Saudi Group, Engineer Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, praised this achievement, which he described as the fruit of the integrated efforts of the planning and operational teams. He emphasized that operational efficiency is a fundamental pillar of the Group's strategic plan, as the time factor is directly linked to the quality of the guest experience and their satisfaction.
Context of National Transformation and Vision 2030
This achievement cannot be separated from the broader context of the transformation underway in the Kingdom's transport and logistics sector under the umbrella of Saudi Vision 2030. The National Aviation Strategy aims to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub connecting three continents, increasing airport capacity and expanding the number of international destinations. On-time performance is a vital indicator of the readiness of the infrastructure and operational systems to accommodate the growing influx of passengers and tourists.
Fleet expansion and future aspirations
Saudia is preparing for a new phase of expansion, with 116 new aircraft in the coming years, adding to its current fleet of 149. This move aims to increase seating capacity and launch new international routes, while also leveraging the latest technologies in its operations center to ensure continued operational efficiency in line with this growth.
Economic and tourism impact
The impact of this punctuality extends beyond the aviation sector, playing a pivotal role in supporting the national economy and the tourism industry. Reliable schedules bolster the confidence of investors and tourists attending major international events hosted by the Kingdom, such as entertainment seasons and international conferences. These efforts contribute to the Kingdom's goals of attracting the world and providing a seamless and comfortable travel experience from takeoff to arrival.
