In an official statement published on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) website, the company clarified that the Ministry of Energy has approved an amendment to the scope of SABIC's sixth agricultural nutrient plant project. Under this amendment, the new plant will focus on producing 1.2 million metric tons per year of blue ammonia, a type of low-carbon ammonia that is gaining significant global importance in the shift towards clean energy sources. Additionally, the approvals included the allocation of feedstock for the construction of the seventh plant in Jubail, which will be dedicated to producing the equivalent of 1.2 million metric tons per year of conventional ammonia, along with 2.6 million metric tons per year of urea.
