As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts and constant vigilance of the security authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the search and rescue teams of the Border Guard in the Jazan region were able to write a new success story by saving the life of a child who was exposed to an imminent drowning accident.
In detail, the marine patrols and rescue teams in the Bish governorate sector immediately began their duties upon spotting a child drowning while swimming. The teams handled the situation with high professionalism and exceptional speed, preventing a potential tragedy. After pulling the child from the sea, the specialized teams provided him with the necessary first aid at the scene to stabilize his condition, before he was immediately transferred to the hospital for further examinations and to receive the required medical care. He is now in stable condition.
This incident highlights the vital role played by the Border Guard, not only in protecting the nation's borders and security, but also in the humanitarian aspect of safeguarding the lives of beachgoers and visitors. The beaches of the Jazan region, particularly in the Bish governorate, are a popular tourist destination for many families, which increases the responsibility of the relevant authorities to monitor the coastlines and ensure everyone's safety.
In a related context, the General Directorate of Border Guards reiterated its warnings to citizens and residents to exercise extreme caution when venturing into coastal areas. The Directorate emphasized the importance of strict adherence to maritime safety regulations, which include swimming only in designated and permitted areas and avoiding prohibited zones or those with strong currents that could pose a risk to life.
The directorate also warned parents of the need to constantly supervise their children and not leave them alone near the beach, as drowning accidents can happen in seconds. It emphasized the importance of wearing life jackets when engaging in various water activities.
The directorate concluded its statement by reminding everyone of the emergency numbers for requesting urgent assistance in emergency situations, calling on everyone to call the number (911) in the regions of Makkah, Madinah and the Eastern Province, and the number (994) in the rest of the regions of the Kingdom, wishing safety for all.
