In a move that underscores the high artistic value the festival offers its audience, a special and exclusive screening of the epic film "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair" by renowned American director Quentin Tarantino has been announced. This event marks the Middle East and North Africa premiere of the film, and moviegoers will be able to watch it on December 12 at the Cultural Square in Jeddah's historic district (Al-Balad). This screening coincides with the film's release in over 1,000 theaters across the United States, placing Jeddah's audience at the heart of this global cinematic event and reflecting the confidence of international directors in the festival as a premier platform for launching their work.
In a tribute celebrating cinematic history, the festival witnessed exceptional moments with the honoring of Indian cinema icon Rekha, in a rare appearance for the esteemed star outside her homeland. Rekha received the award from Faisal Baltior, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, in recognition of her illustrious career that has inspired generations of actors. To commemorate this achievement, the program included a screening of the restored version of her timeless classic film "Umrao Jaan" within the "Red Sea Treasures" section, dedicated to preserving global cinematic heritage and restoring masterpieces to ensure their survival for future generations.
