The context of digital transformation and the future of real estate in the Kingdom

This announcement comes as part of a comprehensive strategy adopted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within its Vision 2030, aimed at digitizing real estate assets and transitioning from the traditional deed system to a modern real estate registration system. This system represents a qualitative leap in the history of Saudi real estate documentation, as it relies on highly accurate property descriptions linked to geospatial data, thus ending the era of relying on written descriptions, which previously led to overlapping ownership claims or inaccurate land areas.

Economic importance and expected impact

The real estate registration project carries significant economic and developmental dimensions at both the local and national levels. Economically, issuing a property number and a reliable title deed enhances transparency in the real estate market, thereby increasing the sector's attractiveness to both local and foreign investment. Furthermore, the accuracy of geospatial data drastically reduces real estate disputes and court cases, thus fostering a safe and stable investment environment.

Furthermore, this project contributes to supporting urban planning and infrastructure development, as it provides decision-makers with an accurate database on the distribution of ownership and land uses, thus accelerating the pace of sustainable urban development in major cities such as Mecca and Medina.

Registration mechanism and requirements

The Real Estate Authority confirmed that the initial registration process will be available digitally through the electronic real estate registry platform, or by visiting authorized service centers. The Authority stipulated that a valid title deed meeting all regulatory requirements is necessary to complete the process. The Authority urged all property owners in the aforementioned neighborhoods to verify their deeds and ensure they meet all requirements before the deadline, noting that inquiries and support can be obtained through the unified customer service number 199002.
