The Rafed Al-Haramain initiative was launched to train 320 field supervisors in partnership with Umm Al-Qura University, with the aim of raising the efficiency of Hajj and Umrah services and achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing the services provided to pilgrims, the "Rafid Al-Haramain" initiative launched its third consecutive year of operations, offering a series of specialized training programs designed to qualify 320 field supervisors. This initiative is the result of an effective strategic partnership between Umm Al-Qura University and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, striving to raise the efficiency of personnel working during the Hajj and Umrah seasons, thus ensuring the provision of high-quality services befitting the Kingdom's stature and the pilgrims visiting the Two Holy Mosques.

The current iteration of the initiative focuses on honing the skills of supervisors in key areas, including customer service, effective communication across diverse cultures, and managing emergency situations and crises. These intensive programs aim to ensure an exceptional experience for pilgrims, characterized by high professionalism and flexibility, thus facilitating the performance of rituals with ease and peace of mind.

Keeping pace with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030

This initiative is particularly significant given the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's broader focus on developing the Hajj and Umrah sector. Umm Al-Qura University, through its Institute of Research and Consulting Studies, seeks to translate theoretical academic expertise into practical applications that serve the field. This approach aligns directly with the objectives of Vision 2030, specifically the Guests of God Service Program, which aims to enrich the religious and cultural experience of pilgrims and Umrah performers, and to reach 30 million Umrah pilgrims by 2030—a goal that necessitates a highly qualified human resources infrastructure.

The program organizers emphasized that these courses are an extension of a series of national efforts aimed at building a qualified Saudi workforce capable of efficiently and effectively managing the millions of pilgrims and the on-the-ground challenges at the Two Holy Mosques and the Holy Sites. Investing in human capital is the cornerstone of successful Hajj seasons, as the field supervisor is the first line of defense in ensuring the quality of services and monitoring their performance.

Strategic partnerships and integration between sectors

The current edition enjoys the support of a broad alliance of strategic partners, including Al Rajhi Trading Company, the Haram Delegations Association, the Coordinating Council for Domestic Pilgrims, and the Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in Social Work Foundation. This alliance enhances the initiative's sustainability and expands its societal and professional impact, reinforcing the concept of integration between the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

At the international and regional levels, this focus on training supervisors reflects the Kingdom's outstanding efforts in serving the Two Holy Mosques and underscores its commitment to providing the highest standards of quality and safety for pilgrims from all corners of the earth. Creating an integrated work environment that ensures the smooth flow of services not only benefits the Kingdom domestically but also sends a reassuring message to the entire Muslim world about the Kingdom's unwavering readiness to serve the guests of God with the utmost professionalism.
