Saihat Charity Association, with the support of the Social Development Bank, empowered 9 productive families in the “Nasifa and Hilal” event in Qatif, in fulfillment of the goals of Vision 2030 in economic empowerment.

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing economic empowerment and achieving financial sustainability for beneficiary families, the Sa’adah Charity Association in Saihat launched a unique initiative to support nine productive families by providing them with the opportunity to participate in the “Nasifah wa Hilal” event held on the waterfront in Qatif Governorate. This initiative, which comes with strategic support from the Social Development Bank in the Eastern Province, serves as a pioneering model for transitioning families from a stage of dependency on aid and care to one of productivity and complete financial independence.

The cultural and social context of the "Nasifa and Hilal" event

The “Nasifa and Hilal” event holds significant cultural and social importance in the Eastern Province, combining two eagerly anticipated traditional celebrations. “Nasifa,” also known as “Qarqee’an,” symbolizes the mid-Sha’ban celebrations, a popular occasion that brings joy to children and adults alike. “Hilal,” on the other hand, represents the anticipation of the crescent moon of Ramadan, lending the event a unique spiritual and festive character. This cultural fusion makes the event a major public attraction and provides an ideal platform for local producers to showcase their products to a large and diverse audience, guaranteeing an invaluable marketing opportunity.

The importance of the initiative within the framework of the Kingdom's Vision 2030

This initiative aligns directly with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 , which prioritizes empowering citizens and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship. Supporting the home-based business sector is a cornerstone for increasing the contribution of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to the GDP, diversifying income sources, and empowering women economically. The partnership between the Saada Association, a non-profit sector arm, and the Social Development Bank, a government financing institution, embodies the desired integration between various state sectors to achieve sustainable development. This collaboration extends beyond providing financial support to include training, capacity building, and access to marketing channels, ensuring the transformation of these home-based businesses into viable and competitive small economic entities.

Expected impact and inspiring success stories

Ghada Al-Saif, Director of Development Programs at the association, emphasized that the initiative's ultimate goal extends beyond simply generating temporary sales during the event. The aim is to instill a sense of self-reliance in these families and empower them with the confidence to enter the job market. She added that participating in such public events is a golden opportunity to build a brand identity for their products, cultivate customer loyalty, and receive direct consumer feedback that will help develop and improve product quality. This experience is expected to contribute to creating inspiring success stories of families who have transitioned from dependency to productivity, becoming role models in society and encouraging more families to follow the same path toward economic independence and actively contribute to the Kingdom's development.
