Perona expressed her delight at being in Saudi Arabia for the second time, noting the event's promising future thanks to the large crowds that support the matches, creating a distinctive seasonal atmosphere. She also expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to referee for the second consecutive time alongside a group of talented colleagues.
In the same tournament's field competitions, the Ghadran team secured a 3-1 victory over Al-Aryan in a Group C match. Ghadran's Mohamed Abdel Mohsen was awarded the Man of the Match prize. The competition continues with further matches, including a Group A clash between Mahmasa Odan and Al-Thaqba, while in Group B, Morocco's Saqr Agadir will face Libya's Al-Suwaihli.
The Al-Qadisiyah Club headquarters is witnessing a vibrant social, cultural, and sporting scene, with a remarkable turnout for its diverse activities. The season's events include interactive and traditional games areas, a food court, and educational and cultural corners such as a Quran recitation correction corner and a sign language awareness corner, reflecting the club's commitment to providing visitors with a comprehensive experience characterized by warm Saudi hospitality.
As part of the accompanying events, a cooking competition will be held, targeting families, amateurs, and culinary enthusiasts. The competition is divided into two main sections: the first is dedicated to home-style dishes, including the presentation of a traditional dessert or rice dish to showcase culinary heritage; the second is for live cooking demonstrations at the event venue, with competitions running from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM.
The preliminary rounds of the Holy Quran competition, held under the slogan "To Build a Society that Lives by the Quran," are also underway. The competition saw the participation of 721 contestants, of whom 375 qualified for the next stage after a selection process based on established criteria. The qualifiers were distributed across five categories: 70 contestants in the first and second categories, 80 in the third and fourth categories, and 75 in the fifth category, which is dedicated to recitation.
In a separate Egyptian Premier League match, the 20th round saw a thrilling 1-1 draw between Modern Sport and Petrojet. Modern Sport took an early lead through Rashad El-Metwally in the third minute, before Rashid Ahmed scored a dramatic equalizer for Petrojet in the sixth minute of stoppage time, leaving the two teams to share the points in a match that remained exciting until the final whistle.
