Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, the capital city of Riyadh is preparing to host the ceremony honoring the winners of the 13th Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in Social Work. The ceremony is scheduled for Sunday evening, February 8, 2026, and will be graced by the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, to recognize 10 winners from among individuals and institutions who have enriched the social landscape with their outstanding initiatives.
A legacy of giving: The background of the Princess Seetah Award
The Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in Social Work was established in memory of the late princess, who was known for her passion and unwavering support for charitable and humanitarian work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Since its inception, the award has become a beacon celebrating initiatives and individuals who dedicate their efforts to serving society. It seeks to instill a culture of giving and social solidarity, and to encourage innovation in finding solutions to social challenges. The award aims to highlight exemplary figures and share their success stories to inspire others.
The importance of a strategy that aligns with Vision 2030
This recognition comes at a time when the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, is giving considerable attention to developing the non-profit sector and promoting social responsibility, considering them two fundamental pillars in achieving the goals of Vision 2030. The Vision aims to increase the non-profit sector's contribution to the GDP, encourage volunteer work, and build a vibrant and productive society. In this context, Dr. Fahd bin Hamad Al-Maghlouth, Secretary-General of the Award, affirmed that the wise leadership – may God support them – considers social work a pivotal tool for developing society and strengthening its cohesion, a fact reflected in the Award's support for innovators.
An exceptional session and special tribute
The 13th edition of the award will honor 10 winners, both individuals and organizations, who have made outstanding contributions in various fields of social work. In addition, the Princess Seetah Endowment will be a guest of honor at the ceremony, in recognition of its pioneering humanitarian role in supporting development, charitable, and endowment work, reflecting the enduring legacy of giving established by the late Princess Seetah. Dr. Al-Maghlouth emphasized the importance of discovering more creative individuals from across the nation, including governmental, private, and charitable entities, and providing them with appropriate recognition for their humanitarian and national efforts towards society. This, he explained, will contribute to fostering a positive and competitive environment that serves the public good.
