In a strategic move aimed at empowering Saudi women and enhancing their professional readiness, the College of Applied Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University will organize the second edition of the “Career Future” forum next Thursday. Targeting students and graduates of the college’s diploma programs, the forum will be held in the university’s central library, serving as a bridge between academic outcomes and the evolving demands of the job market.
General context and objectives of Vision 2030
This forum is being held amidst the major economic and social transformations taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which are at the heart of Saudi Vision 2030. The Vision prioritizes investment in human capital, particularly empowering women and increasing their participation in the labor market, as one of its key pillars. Princess Nourah University, as the largest women's university in the world, plays a pivotal role in achieving these national goals by graduating qualified and competitive female professionals across various vital sectors.
The importance of the forum and its expected impact
The “Career Future” forum derives its significance from being a direct, interactive platform that brings together female students and graduates with over 30 leading public and private sector organizations and institutions. This direct interaction allows graduates to explore available career paths, learn about the skills employers seek, and build a strong professional network. Locally, the forum helps bridge the gap between academic education and the actual needs of the labor market, thus enhancing graduates' employability and reducing unemployment rates. Regionally, it reflects the Kingdom's commitment to developing its education system and qualifying its human resources according to the highest international standards.
Quality workshops and opportunities
The forum features a rich program including workshops and specialized mentoring sessions focused on honing essential skills for career success. Participants will be trained on how to prepare a professional resume, interview techniques, and developing leadership and effective communication skills in the workplace. The forum also includes information booths showcasing the college's applied programs and the services offered by the university's Student and Career Support Center, providing comprehensive support to female students.
In this regard, Dr. Badriya Al-Muzaini, Vice President of the College of Applied Sciences at the university, explained that “the forum aims to empower female students and graduates to transition from theoretical knowledge to practical opportunities that align with the evolving demands of the job market.” She added that this initiative is part of the college’s efforts to achieve the goals of Princess Nourah University’s strategic plan, which seeks to foster a sophisticated academic environment and enhance the quality of educational outcomes, thereby ensuring the competitiveness of national talent in both the local and international job markets.
