In a move reflecting the growing cultural and artistic movement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the College of Design and Arts at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University to open its distinguished annual exhibition, “Nasaq 14,” tomorrow, Thursday, December 4, 2025. This event serves as a vital platform to showcase the work of young talents, featuring approximately 30 graduation projects by students in the sculpture and photography tracks of the Visual Arts program.
Embodying Saudi identity with a contemporary vision
The “Nasaq 14” exhibition, which runs until December 7, 2025, at the college campus, features artworks that transcend the traditional concept of exhibition. The projects reflect a deep awareness among the students of authentic Saudi identity. The sculptures address themes related to the physical and psychological aspects of humanity, exploring the individual's relationship to place and their social interactions through innovative visual treatments.
In a related context, this year's photography projects stand out for their remarkable diversity, encompassing both intellectual and aesthetic themes. The students drew inspiration from Saudi Arabia's rich heritage, including traditional costumes, proverbs, and local symbols, reinterpreting them with a modern spirit that reflects global developments in the visual arts.
A cultural and economic context that supports creativity
The “Nasaq 14” exhibition cannot be viewed in isolation from the major transformations taking place in the Kingdom under Saudi Vision 2030. With the increasing interest in the culture and arts sector as one of the pillars of the “Quality of Life Program,” academic institutions such as Princess Nourah University play a pivotal role in supplying the art scene with qualified personnel.
This event is particularly significant given the growing "creative economy" in the region, where there is increasing demand for visual arts and photography professionals to serve the tourism, entertainment, and media sectors. These student projects represent a genuine foundation for works that may find their way into local and international museums and galleries, thus enhancing the presence of Saudi women on the global art scene.
Preparing personnel for the labor market
Dr. Noura Mohammed Al-Qabaa, Head of the Visual Arts Department at the college, confirmed that the exhibition is an enhanced version that aligns with the updated academic programs. She explained that the primary goal is to empower students to gain a comprehensive professional experience, starting with in-depth artistic research, moving through precise technical execution, and culminating in presentation and public relations skills, thus forming the first step towards launching their careers.

The exhibition opens its doors to visitors and those interested according to the following schedule:
- Thursday: From 6 pm to 10 pm.
