Learn about the new mechanism for organizing Iftar meals for fasting worshippers at the Two Holy Mosques in cooperation with the Ihsan and Nusuk platforms. Registration and payment steps are provided to ensure transparency and quality of service.

In a significant step aimed at organizing charitable work and enhancing the efficiency of services provided to pilgrims, the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques announced the launch of a modern and documented mechanism for organizing the Iftar in the Two Holy Mosques during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative comes as a strategic collaboration with the national charitable platform "Ihsan" and the "Nusk" Foundation, forming an integrated system that strengthens governance and transparency standards.

Digital transformation in line with Vision 2030

This step comes within the framework of the comprehensive digital transformation underway in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of Vision 2030, which aims to automate services provided at the Two Holy Mosques and facilitate the experience of visitors and pilgrims. The Iftar meals at the Two Holy Mosques have always been among the largest in the world, with hundreds of thousands of Muslims gathering daily at sunset. Organizing this process used to require immense human and logistical efforts. With the introduction of modern technology through the "Ihsan" and "Nusk" platforms, this great ritual is transitioning from individual efforts to organized institutional work that ensures donations reach their intended recipients with the highest quality standards.

Registration and contribution mechanism

The authority explained that the new mechanism begins with individuals and non-profit organizations wishing to provide breakfast registering through the authority's official website. The process is characterized by its ease and reliability, as the financial contribution is paid directly through the "Ihsan" platform. Flexible options have been made available for donors

  • For individuals: The equivalent of one trip consisting of 25 or 50 meals is calculated, according to the donor's wishes and ability.
  • For non-profit organizations: A minimum participation requirement of ten trips for men and ten trips for women has been set, to ensure coverage of wide areas and to serve the largest number of fasting people.

The role of "Nusk" in managing implementation and contracting

After selecting the location, number of meals, and making secure payments through Ihsan, the Nusk Humanitarian Foundation takes over, handling the operational and contractual aspects. The foundation manages contracts between the implementing agencies (approved catering companies) and the donors. Once the financial procedures are complete, the final permit is issued, and the donor is notified of all the details of the company that will be carrying out the trip on their behalf.

Transparency and documentation: a guarantee of the donor's rights

To enhance trust in official donation channels, the new mechanism allows donors the option of personally visiting the Holy Mosque in Mecca or the Prophet's Mosque in Medina to witness firsthand the distribution process and the quality of the meals provided. If a visit is not possible, the implementing company is obligated to send a comprehensive and documented periodic report detailing the number of beneficiaries and the distribution methods, supported by accurate photos and data, thus reinforcing the principle of absolute transparency.

Social and organizational impact

This tripartite collaboration between the Authority, Ihsan, and Nusk represents a qualitative leap in crowd management and food services within the Two Holy Mosques. From an organizational standpoint, this system helps eliminate disorganization, reduce food waste, and ensure the cleanliness and sanctity of the holy sites, in addition to standardizing meal quality in terms of both health and nutrition. From a social perspective, this system opens wide the door for those wishing to do good, both within the Kingdom and abroad, to contribute to providing iftar meals for fasting individuals in a safe and reliable manner, thus maximizing the lasting social impact of this ritual during the holy month.
