The Muslim World League and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed their strong condemnation and denunciation of the treacherous terrorist bombing that targeted the Afghan capital, Kabul, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries, affirming their full support for the Afghan people in this ordeal.
Statement of the Muslim World League
In an official statement issued by the General Secretariat of the Muslim World League, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the League and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, reaffirmed the League's firm stance against all forms of violence and terrorism, regardless of their motives or justifications. The statement emphasized the League's full solidarity with Afghanistan and its people in confronting all threats to their security, stability, and territorial integrity.
Dr. Al-Issa offered his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the entire Afghan people, asking God Almighty to have mercy on the deceased and to grant the injured a speedy recovery, calling for concerted efforts to eradicate the scourge of terrorism, which is contrary to all religious and human values.
The Kingdom condemns the targeting of civilians
For its part, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the terrorist bombing in Kabul, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of Afghan citizens as well as Chinese nationals, indicating a targeting of both international and civilian interests. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom's categorical rejection of these criminal acts, which contravene all ethical and international principles.
The Kingdom affirmed its support and solidarity with the friendly Afghan people against all forms of violence and extremism, expressing its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Afghanistan, with its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.
Security context and challenges in Afghanistan
This bombing comes at a time of escalating security challenges in Afghanistan, as extremist groups attempt to destabilize the country by targeting the capital, Kabul, vital infrastructure, and hotels frequented by foreigners. These attacks are an attempt to undermine efforts to restore security and build state institutions, as well as to isolate Afghanistan internationally by targeting foreign nationals and diplomatic missions.
The importance of the Islamic and international stance
The statement issued by the Muslim World League is of particular importance as it represents the unifying Islamic authority for Muslim peoples, contributing to exposing extremist ideology and stripping these terrorist groups of any religious cover. Furthermore, the Saudi and international solidarity reflects the necessity of joint action to combat transnational terrorism and to support the Afghan people in their pursuit of peace and economic and social stability, far removed from the language of bloodshed and destruction.
