The Grand Mufti of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sheikh Abdulaziz Zakirov, affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays a pivotal and exceptional role in serving Islam and Muslims worldwide, praising the deep-rooted and strong fraternal and historical ties that bind the two brotherly nations. This came during his address at the inauguration ceremony for Ramadan programs in the capital, Bishkek.
Launching the gift of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques
The Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, witnessed the launch ceremony of the "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Gift of Dates" and "Iftar for Fasting People" programs, implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. The ceremony was attended by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Rasheed, along with a number of senior officials, including representatives from the Presidential Office and the Cabinet of Ministers, the Chairman of the National Investment Agency, a representative of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, the Chairman of the National Agency for Religious Affairs, as well as members of Parliament, the diplomatic corps, and university presidents.
Global leadership in serving Islam and Muslims
Speaking about the importance of the event, Mufti Zakirov noted that the Kingdom spares no effort in serving Islam and Muslims , emphasizing that these efforts reflect the Kingdom's spiritual and leadership role as the Qibla of Muslims and the birthplace of revelation. He explained that these initiatives are not spontaneous but rather an extension of a long history of humanitarian aid and continuous support provided by Saudi Arabia to Islamic countries, particularly in the Central Asian republics, thus promoting the values of tolerance, moderation, and balance that are encouraged by the true Islamic faith.
Humanitarian and social dimensions of Saudi initiatives
The importance of these programs extends beyond mere relief efforts, encompassing profound social and diplomatic dimensions. The increased allocation of dates this year, reaching 10 tons—an increase of 5 tons compared to last year—reflects the Saudi leadership's commitment to expanding the circle of beneficiaries and strengthening the bonds of Islamic solidarity. These initiatives contribute to bringing joy and happiness to those fasting, with the distribution of dates expected to benefit approximately 40,000 people, while the Iftar program will cover around 3,500 individuals, embodying the highest ideals of Islamic brotherhood and social solidarity during this blessed month.
The Grand Mufti of Kyrgyzstan concluded his statement by emphasizing that these programs are widely appreciated and accepted by the Kyrgyz people, who hold the Kingdom’s leadership and its generous people in the highest esteem and gratitude. He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, under the close supervision of His Excellency the Minister, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, to ensure that these aid efforts reach those who deserve them in the best possible way.
