Al-Mowasat Medical Services Company, a leading healthcare provider in Saudi Arabia, announced a new strategic step: obtaining final approval from the Ministry of Health to operate its new hospital in Yanbu Industrial City. In an official statement published on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul), the company confirmed that the hospital will begin receiving patients and visitors on February 1, 2026.
Project background and strategic importance
This project is part of Al-Mowasat Medical Services' ambitious expansion plans, which aim to strengthen its medical network and cover vital and strategic areas in the Kingdom. Yanbu Industrial City, overseen by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, is a major economic and industrial hub on the Red Sea coast and is experiencing significant population growth. This growth has created a pressing need for advanced, high-quality healthcare services, which the new Al-Mowasat Hospital seeks to provide to the city's residents and surrounding areas.
Full readiness to provide the best services
The company explained that the decision to set the opening date came after completing all necessary preparations to ensure the provision of world-class medical services. These preparations included finalizing all inspection, calibration, and rigorous testing of the hospital's advanced mechanical, electrical, and medical systems. Qualified medical, administrative, and technical staff were also recruited and secured to guarantee a strong and efficient start to operations, reflecting the company's commitment to patient safety and quality of care from day one.
Expected impact on both the local and economic levels
The hospital's opening is expected to have a multifaceted positive impact. Locally, it will improve access to specialized healthcare services for Yanbu residents, reducing their need to travel to other cities for treatment. The project will also create new job opportunities across various medical and administrative specialties, supporting local economic development. On the company's economic front, Al-Mowasat management anticipates that the project's positive financial impact will begin to appear in its financial results starting from the first quarter of 2026, boosting revenue growth and strengthening its competitive market position.
This expansion is in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the Health Sector Transformation Program, which focus on raising the quality and efficiency of health services and encouraging private sector participation in achieving comprehensive development in the Kingdom’s healthcare sector.
