A select group of graduate students from various Arab and Islamic countries praised the pivotal role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in correcting misconceptions and promoting the values of tolerance, following their completion of the "Moderation and Tolerance Fellowship" program. The graduates affirmed that this program, overseen by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represents a qualitative leap in the mechanisms of Islamic legal and da'wah training, combining the authenticity of the curriculum with contemporary relevance.
Official sponsorship and leadership attention
These accolades coincided with the graduation ceremony for the second cohort of the program, hosted by the Islamic University of Madinah, under the generous patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh. This ceremony reflects the great attention given by the wise leadership – may God support them – represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to establishing the moderate approach as a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom's vision, and to combating all forms of extremism and fanaticism, both intellectually and academically.
The Islamic University: A Global Beacon
This event is particularly significant as it is being held at the Islamic University of Madinah, which, since its founding, has been a beacon of intellectual and cultural enlightenment, attracting students from all corners of the globe. The university and its program extend beyond academic education to include fostering intellectual security among preachers, empowering them to be ambassadors of peace and moderation in their respective countries. This, in turn, reinforces the Kingdom's position as the heart of the Islamic world and a leading authority on the correct understanding of Islam.
Live testimonials of the program's excellence
Speaking about the program's direct impact, Dr. Mohammed bin Hussein Ashour Al-Dulaimi, a PhD graduate from the Republic of Iraq, expressed his immense pride in joining the fellowship. Al-Dulaimi noted that the Minister's direct support and visits to the participants served as a significant morale booster, emphasizing that the program's outcomes contribute to strengthening the values of mercy and tolerance, which are at the heart of Islam's message and a continuation of the righteous predecessors' approach.
For his part, Hussein Mohammed Al-Husseini from the Arab Republic of Egypt, who won third place, highlighted the technical and skills-based aspects of the program. He explained that the fellowship did not limit itself to theory, but rather provided a comprehensive knowledge package that included managing da'wah projects and utilizing modern technologies, which is essential for contemporary da'is to reach audiences effectively. Al-Husseini praised the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, the General Authority for Endowments, and the partner Saudi universities (King Abdulaziz University, the Islamic University, and the University of Tabuk) in ensuring the success of this project.
The global message of Saudi Arabia
In the same vein, Abdulwahab Mohammed Ali Badi, a graduate student from Yemen, affirmed that the diversity of participants, representing more than fifty countries, clearly reflects the global reach and leadership of the Kingdom. He noted that the benefits were comprehensive, covering intellectual, educational, and technical aspects, thus equipping graduates to address contemporary intellectual challenges with wisdom and competence.
The graduates concluded their speech by raising their hands in supplication to God Almighty to protect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, appreciating its great efforts in serving the causes of Muslims and spreading social peace through quality programs with sustainable impact.
