Explosions rocked Tel Aviv and Tehran amid an exchange of military strikes. The Israeli army targeted 30 sites, and the Revolutionary Guard announced a fierce attack in retaliation for the killing of Khamenei.

Sirens wailed and loud explosions were heard in Tel Aviv and central Israel on Sunday, according to an AFP correspondent. This security development comes amid an escalation of direct military strikes between Israel and Iran in the region.

Field sources reported hearing ten explosions in the coastal city, resulting from the activation of Israeli air defense systems to intercept missiles launched from Iranian territory. This wave of attacks comes a day after Iranian missiles struck the Tel Aviv area on Saturday, killing a woman on the first day of the Iranian response.

In response, the Israeli military announced it had targeted more than 30 military sites inside Iran on Sunday night. Reports indicated that at least three explosions rocked the Iranian capital, Tehran, around 4:00 AM local time, coinciding with the sound of drones flying over the city.

For its part, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced a violent attack against Israel. Sources quoted the Revolutionary Guard as saying that the United States and Israel had violated international law, noting that this escalation comes after the announcement of the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a joint Israeli-American strike, according to the circulated statements.

The mutual military operations between the two sides continue, with ongoing aerial and missile bombardments of various targets, amidst a state of widespread security alert in both countries.
