Mayar Holding Company announced that one of its newly established subsidiaries, Jadaya Halal Company, has signed a long-term lease agreement for a fully integrated poultry slaughterhouse in Buraidah, Qassim region. The agreement, valued at SAR 70 million, was signed with Wadi Poultry Farms Company and extends for ten years.
The contract includes leasing the fully operational slaughterhouse with its modern equipment, enabling it to process up to 9,000 birds per hour. This high production capacity positions Jadaya Halal to meet the growing demand for high-quality poultry products in the Saudi market.
General context and importance of the deal for food security
This step comes within the framework of a broader strategic direction for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, embodied in Vision 2030 , which prioritizes achieving food security and self-sufficiency. The poultry sector is a key pillar of this strategy, as the government seeks to increase domestic production and reduce reliance on imports. The Qassim region, where the project is located, is one of the Kingdom's most important food baskets, thanks to its robust agricultural infrastructure and strategic geographic location.
Expected economic and local impact
This deal is expected to have multiple positive impacts both locally and nationally. Locally, the project will contribute to creating new job opportunities in Buraidah and surrounding areas, supporting local farmers and suppliers, and boosting economic activity in the region. Nationally, increasing local poultry production capacity will enhance price stability and provide consumers with fresh and reliable products, thus supporting the Kingdom's overall food security goals.
According to the company's statement published on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) website, the slaughterhouse is expected to be handed over and operational within 14 months of the contract signing date. The company also anticipates that the positive financial impact of this project will begin to materialize in the second half of fiscal year 2027, reflecting a long-term vision and a sustainable investment that will benefit both the company's shareholders and the national economy.
