The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” announced the conclusion of the “First Elite Camp”, which represents a crucial stage in preparing and qualifying 214 gifted male and female students to represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the 2026 International Olympiads. The camp was held simultaneously in Riyadh, Jeddah and Indonesia, providing an intensive training program aimed at refining their skills and raising their readiness to compete at the highest global levels.

Investing in minds: A national vision for the future

These efforts are part of a comprehensive national strategy adopted by the Kingdom, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030, which places human capital development at the heart of its priorities. The Mawhiba Foundation, established in 1999, plays a pivotal role in discovering and nurturing talented and creative individuals in scientific and technological fields. Over the years, the Foundation has successfully built a distinguished record of achievements, with its students winning hundreds of medals in various international competitions, thus reinforcing the Kingdom's position as a rising power in science and innovation. This camp is a continuation of this approach, investing early in young minds to become future leaders in science and technology.

Elite camp details: Scientific preparation according to international standards

The 12-day camp featured a rigorous training program overseen by a specialized team of 38 highly experienced and qualified local and international trainers, supported by a supervisory and support team to ensure maximum benefit for the participants. Students were distributed across 22 training rooms equipped with the latest educational technologies to provide a stimulating environment conducive to in-depth learning and practical application. The program focused on combining advanced theoretical knowledge with precise practical experience, aiming to build competitive capabilities capable of meeting the complex scientific challenges presented by international Olympiads.

Diverse scientific paths and strategic impact

The training covered seven vital and strategic scientific tracks, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, general science, as well as informatics and astronomy/space science. This diversity reflects Mawhiba's commitment to covering all major international Olympiad disciplines. The camp serves as a pivotal stage for selecting the most outstanding students to advance to more advanced training phases, ultimately leading to the formation of national teams that will represent the Kingdom.

The impact of these programs extends beyond simply winning awards; it encompasses building a generation of Saudi scientists, researchers, and innovators. Locally, these students contribute to enriching the scientific community and driving the knowledge-based economy. Internationally, achieving top rankings in these forums enhances the Kingdom's scientific reputation and highlights the scale of its investment in its youth, amidst fierce competition from over 120 countries represented by thousands of outstanding students annually.
