Al-Ahli coach Matias Jiesle decided to continue training and give the players a break on Tuesday only in preparation for facing Al-Ittihad in the 25th round of the Saudi Professional League on March 6.

German coach Matthias Jäissle, manager of Al-Ahli's first football team, decided that the players should continue to perform their regular training sessions, following the decision to cancel the team's match that was scheduled against their Qatari counterpart Al-Duhail in the AFC Champions League.

Al-Ahly's coaching staff has set a timetable for the current phase, as Yassla informed the team members that they will be given a break from training only next Tuesday, and the players will resume training immediately after the end of the day of rest, to begin the direct technical and physical preparations for the next local match.

The intensified preparations come as part of the Jeddah team’s preparations to host its neighbor Al-Ittihad in the derby match, which is scheduled to be held at ten o’clock on the evening of Friday, March 6, as part of the twenty-fifth round of the Saudi Professional League competition.

The two sides enter the match with different numerical calculations in the overall standings, as Al-Ahli team occupies second place in the Roshan League competition table with 59 points before playing the derby, while Al-Ittihad team is in fifth place with 42 points.
