In a humanitarian gesture reflecting the deep social cohesion in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah Region, shared an Iftar meal with orphans during Ramadan. This took place during the official ceremony that launched the "We Are All Family" initiative, organized by the Madinah branch of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, with the aim of enhancing comprehensive care for this cherished group.
The roots of community interest and the development of charitable work in the Kingdom
The launch of these initiatives carries profound historical and social dimensions, as caring for orphans and attending to their needs has always been an integral part of the authentic Islamic and Arab culture upon which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was founded since its unification. This initiative is an extension of a series of governmental and institutional efforts aimed at institutionalizing charitable work and moving it from simply providing material assistance to comprehensive empowerment. The past few years have witnessed remarkable development in the mechanisms for supporting orphans, with a focus now on integrating them into society and providing a nurturing and stimulating environment that ensures a bright future for them. This aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in building a vibrant and cohesive society.
Reviewing the Ministry's efforts and highlighting the talents of orphans
During the ceremony held on this occasion, His Royal Highness the Prince of the region and the attendees watched a detailed presentation showcasing the most prominent efforts of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development branch in the Madinah region. The presentation highlighted the pivotal role the Ministry plays in overseeing non-profit organizations and empowering them to deliver sustainable development programs and initiatives that effectively serve beneficiaries. His Royal Highness also toured the talent corner accompanying the event, where he viewed the creative works of orphaned children and their diverse skills and talents in various fields, reflecting the positive impact of the rehabilitation programs provided to them.
The developmental dimensions and expected impact of the "We Are All Family" initiative
The “We Are All Family” initiative is of paramount importance at both the local and regional levels, as it extends beyond mere welfare to represent a pioneering model of sustainable social development. This initiative is expected to have a tangible impact on the lives of orphans through 14 specialized sub-initiatives focused on developing their capabilities and enhancing their integration into society. Locally, the initiative contributes to the social and developmental empowerment of orphans, opening up broader horizons for them to benefit from available educational and professional opportunities. Regionally, it offers an inspiring Saudi experience in managing social welfare programs and transforming targeted groups into productive and active contributors to nation-building.
Honoring and recognizing humanitarian efforts
At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Royal Highness the Prince of Madinah Region posed for commemorative photographs with the orphaned children, a scene that embodied paternal affection and a desire to bring joy to their hearts.
