The stallion “Anwar Al-Sayed,” from Al-Sayed Stud, came in second place, winning the silver medal, while the bronze medal went to the stallion “SK Shaheen.”.
Historical background and cultural significance
The Arabian horse is inextricably linked to the history and heritage of the Arabian Peninsula, having been an integral part of Arab life and a symbol of strength, authenticity, and beauty. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia places special emphasis on preserving this rich heritage, continuing the legacy of its founder, King Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God have mercy on him – who was known for his passion for Arabian horses and his dedication to protecting their rare breeds. This championship serves as a practical manifestation of this commitment, aiming to showcase the finest horses produced by local stables and to encourage breeders to implement the highest quality standards in their breeding programs.
The impact of the championship and its strategic dimensions
The championship was more than just a sporting competition; its impact extended to becoming a significant economic and social platform. Locally, such events contribute to revitalizing the domestic horse market, increasing its value, and encouraging investment in this promising sector, aligning with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and develop the sports, entertainment, and tourism sectors. The championship also witnessed a record participation of 240 horses, owned by 151 individuals from across the Kingdom, underscoring the broad base of support for this traditional sport.
Regionally and internationally, this championship solidifies the Kingdom's position as a leading destination in the equestrian world and a global center for the production and breeding of purebred Arabian horses. The success and excellence of local production on the international stage enhances the reputation of Saudi stables and strengthens their global competitiveness. Generous cash prizes were awarded to the winners as direct support for owners and breeders, motivating them to continue raising the standards of local production and ensuring the continued dominance of Saudi horses on the world stage.
