Al-Sudais inaugurates the volunteer platform of the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Prophet’s Mosque, within the National Platform for Volunteer Work, to enhance visitor services and achieve the goals of Vision 2030.

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing the services provided to visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, His Excellency the President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, inaugurated the volunteer platform of the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Prophet's Mosque. This step comes within the framework of the National Platform for Volunteer Work, representing a qualitative leap in institutionalizing and organizing religious volunteer work according to the highest standards of quality and governance.

Promoting institutional volunteer work

The new platform primarily aims to organize volunteer efforts and attract talented young Saudi nationals, offering high-quality volunteer opportunities that contribute to supporting the global mission of the Two Holy Mosques. The platform works to unify efforts under an official umbrella that guarantees the rights of volunteers and documents their volunteer hours, thus promoting the values of giving and generosity in Saudi society and providing volunteers with a unique opportunity to participate in serving visitors to the Prophet's Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him).

Alignment with the Kingdom's Vision 2030

During the launch, Sheikh Al-Sudais emphasized that this platform aligns perfectly with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places great importance on volunteer work and aspires to reach one million volunteers annually. The non-profit and volunteer sector is a cornerstone of sustainable development, upon which the Kingdom relies to strengthen social solidarity and enhance the quality of life. Through this platform, the General Presidency for Religious Affairs seeks to activate community partnerships and open new horizons for organized charitable work that serves both religion and the nation.

The importance of the platform and its expected impact

This platform is of particular importance given the special place the Prophet's Mosque holds in the hearts of Muslims worldwide. It is expected that the platform will contribute to:

  • Improving the visitor experience: by providing trained volunteers to assist with religious guidance and instruction, and to organize crowds within the Rawdah Al-Sharifah and the mosque's corridors.
  • Spreading the message of moderation: Volunteers are ambassadors for the message of the Two Holy Mosques, which is based on tolerance and moderation.
  • Digital transformation: Linking the platform to the National Platform for Volunteer Work reflects the Presidency’s commitment to digital transformation to facilitate registration, acceptance and follow-up procedures.

The launch of the platform is a pivotal step towards developing the volunteer work system under the leadership of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which contributes to achieving institutional excellence and maximizing the religious and humanitarian impact in the Prophet’s Mosque, reflecting the bright image of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving the guests of God.
