All eyes are on the Holy City of Mecca, as it prepares to launch the third edition of "Markaz Al-Balad Al-Amin," the most prominent Ramadan event organized by the Municipality of Mecca. This edition offers a comprehensive cultural and social experience spanning 15 nights of the holy month, aiming to reinforce Mecca's position as a beacon of cultural and humanitarian influence.
Historical dimension and modern vision
The “Markaz Al-Balad Al-Amin” event is not merely a fleeting activity, but rather a revival of the “Markaz” concept deeply rooted in Hijazi heritage, which has long served as a space for social interaction, conversation, and resolving neighborhood issues. In its third edition, themed “Makkah Inspires the World,” this heritage is reimagined within a modern framework that aligns with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, specifically the Quality of Life Program, by creating an environment that blends the spirituality of the place and the depth of its history with the comfort of services and modern organization.
The event gains strategic importance as it is held in the “Sumou” suburb on Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road, the vital artery linking Mecca and Jeddah, which facilitates access for visitors, pilgrims and residents of the region, and enhances the concept of cultural tourism in the holy capital.
Economic activity and a platform for luxury brands
Economically, the center serves as a vital platform for supporting local content and stimulating commercial activity. This edition features a unique market with seven dedicated pavilions showcasing luxury Saudi brands participating in Makkah for the first time. This initiative aims not only to provide a distinctive shopping experience but also to empower national brands and open new investment opportunities for entrepreneurs, thus contributing to the diversification of the local economy and creating promising prospects.
Previous editions have proven the feasibility of this approach, as the center recorded record numbers represented in receiving more than 32,000 guests, achieving economic activity estimated at more than 5 billion riyals, in addition to signing 50 partnership agreements, which confirms the transformation of the event into a real development engine.
A meeting place for thought and inspiration
The Mayor of Mecca, Musaed Al-Dawood, affirmed that the center represents a practical embodiment of the concept of comprehensive development, transcending its role as a mere entertainment venue to become a platform for constructive dialogue among various governmental, private, and non-profit sectors. For his part, the project's CEO, Dhaifallah Al-Khazmari, indicated that the new design of the center, with its six diverse zones, aims to transform Ramadan nights into a space for intellectual and cultural inspiration.
The event will feature a series of evenings and dialogue sessions hosting a select group of speakers to discuss topics that enrich knowledge and promote values, amidst a Ramadan atmosphere that reflects the authentic hospitality of Mecca, and confirms to the whole world that Mecca is the heart of the world, pulsating with life and renewal.
