The emergency center for combating epidemic diseases in Hiran District, Hajjah Governorate, Yemen, continues to provide its medical services to beneficiaries, thanks to the generous support and direct sponsorship of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. This initiative is a continuation of Saudi Arabia's tireless efforts to support the health sector in Yemen and ensure access to necessary medical care for the most vulnerable groups in affected areas.
Statistics on therapeutic services provided
Medical reports issued by the center revealed that, during the period from December 10 to 16, 2025, its clinics provided services to 1,587 beneficiaries, encompassing a variety of age groups and medical conditions. The pediatric clinic treated 551 children who received the necessary care, while the internal medicine clinic received 376 patients, and the infectious disease control clinic recorded 660 patient visits. This reflects the vital role the center plays in combating epidemics and communicable diseases in the region.
Support and environmental services
The center's efforts extended beyond medical examinations to include a comprehensive system of support services to ensure high-quality healthcare. The laboratory department provided services to 457 patients for detailed laboratory tests, and the pharmacy dispensed necessary medications to 1,541 beneficiaries. The observation ward admitted 462 patients for close monitoring of their health. Furthermore, in its commitment to environmental safety and infection control, the center implemented four specialized activities for the safe and hygienic disposal of medical waste.
The humanitarian and strategic role of the King Salman Center
This support comes within the framework of a comprehensive strategy adopted by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center to address the significant challenges facing the health sector in Yemen. Hajjah Governorate is among the areas requiring ongoing intervention due to its high population density and the difficult living conditions imposed by the Yemeni crisis. The Center is working to bridge the gap in medical needs by supporting hospitals and health centers with medicines, medical supplies, qualified personnel, and fuel necessary to operate generators.
The importance of combating epidemics in border areas
Supporting the "Epidemic Disease Control Center" in Hiran District is of paramount importance, as these centers contribute to forming a first line of defense against the spread of infectious diseases such as cholera, dengue fever, and malaria, which often thrive in areas with weak sanitation infrastructure and a scarcity of clean water. The continued operation of these centers not only serves the residents of Hajjah Governorate but also contributes to strengthening regional health security by containing outbreaks before they spread, reflecting the humanitarian vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in extending a helping hand to its brothers and sisters in Yemen and alleviating their suffering in every way possible.
