Ongoing relief efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people
As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the brotherly Yemeni people, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued to provide its high-quality assistance in various Yemeni governorates. The Center recently distributed 1,000 vouchers for winter clothing in the Tarim district of Hadramawt Governorate, as part of the 2026 “Kanaf” project. These vouchers allowed beneficiary families, comprising 1,000 individuals from displaced persons and the host community, the freedom to choose their winter clothing from approved stores, thus preserving their dignity and directly meeting their needs.
In parallel, the center intensified its interventions in the food security sector, distributing 4,700 complete food baskets in the Al-Sum and Sayun districts of Hadramawt. Approximately 32,900 individuals benefited from this emergency food aid, helping to secure their basic food needs amidst the difficult economic conditions the country is experiencing.
The general context of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen
This aid comes in the context of one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, which has plagued Yemen for years. The ongoing conflict has displaced millions, destroyed infrastructure, and deteriorated basic services, leaving the majority of the population dependent on humanitarian assistance for survival. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, established in 2015, is one of the leading donors and implementers of relief programs in Yemen, with its interventions covering vital sectors including food, health, water, shelter, and education.
The importance of aid and its impact on beneficiaries
These projects are of paramount importance, especially with the onset of winter, which exacerbates the suffering of displaced families living in camps or temporary shelters lacking heating. Winter clothing provides essential protection for children and the elderly against cold-related illnesses. Food baskets are a lifeline for thousands of families struggling to access sufficient food and contribute to combating widespread malnutrition. The continuation of these projects reflects the commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, to stand with the Yemeni people and alleviate the severity of the crisis.
Supporting the education sector and strengthening community resilience
The center's efforts were not limited to emergency relief but extended to supporting sustainable development sectors. In this context, the center concluded a project to enhance the educational process in the Al-Hawta and Tuban districts of Lahj Governorate, benefiting more than 6,400 students. The project included distributing school bags and uniforms, rehabilitating classrooms, and training educational staff, thus ensuring the continuity of education for future generations and contributing to building a better future for Yemen.
