The mobile medical clinics of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued providing vital humanitarian services in the Al-Gharzah area of Haradh District in Hajjah Governorate, Yemen, reaching 267 beneficiaries between January 7 and 13, 2024. These efforts are part of a series of medical projects implemented by the Center to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The clinics witnessed a high turnout of patients, with the Infectious Diseases Clinic receiving 172 beneficiaries, reflecting the importance of its preventive and curative role in combating disease outbreaks. The Emergency Clinic handled 44 critical cases, the Internal Medicine Clinic provided consultations and treatments to 50 patients, and one patient benefited from the services of the Reproductive Health Clinic. As part of the ancillary medical services, 105 patients received necessary care in the Nursing Services Department, medications were dispensed to 262 individuals, and care was provided to 20 injured individuals in the Surgery and Dressing Clinic.

The general context and the humanitarian crisis in Yemen

This aid comes amid an ongoing humanitarian crisis, one of the worst in the world, where years of conflict have led to the near-total collapse of Yemen’s health sector. Hajjah Governorate, particularly the Haradh district located on the front lines, is among the hardest hit, with residents and internally displaced persons (IDPs) facing extreme difficulty accessing basic medical services. In this context, mobile clinics represent a lifeline for communities in remote and isolated areas, providing urgent primary healthcare that helps save lives and curb the spread of disease.

The importance of the relief role of the King Salman Center

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief), established in 2015, is the humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and plays a pivotal role in responding to crises around the world, with a particular focus on Yemen. The Centre's efforts extend beyond the health sector to encompass multiple programs in food security, water and sanitation, education, and shelter. The mobile medical clinics project is a prime example of the Centre's strategy to reach the most vulnerable populations and provide sustainable, direct support that addresses urgent needs on the ground, thereby strengthening the resilience of local communities in the face of harsh conditions.
